How To Trade Options | Think or Swim

In this Think or Swim tutorial I will show you four ways to trade options. We cover the basics of understanding the options chain, including expiration date, strike prices, and in vs out of the money options.

From there we take a look at four different ways to get the option contract into the active trader tab so you can trade while using a chart. The first is trading them directly in the option chain, but we recommend a two monitor set up for that. Second is the copy and paste method, where the option ‘code’ is pasted into the active trader window. Third is the send to link method, taking advantage of Think or Swims linked window feature. Lastly and my favorite we use the dropdown menu to load the entire option chain into the active trader tab. This is by far the quickest and most versatile way to switch strikes, expiration, and from calls to puts or vice versa.

You can use Think or Swim to trade options on companies like Apple (AAPL), Netflix (NFLX), Tesla (TSLA), Facebook (FB), AliBaba (BABA), Nvidia (NVDA), Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). By learning to trade options you are learning how to become a self sufficient trader and become financially independent. Trading options has changed many peoples lives and I’m confident that it has the ability to change yours also.
